Digital Accessibility: Websites

The content on this site will primarily refer to the accessibility of websites hosted in Drupal environments, as Drupal is the main content management system used by the University of Pittsburgh.

Please note that the accessibility requirements below still apply even if you are not using Drupal. Consult your website builder’s help documentation for how to apply their accessibility features.

Website Accessibility Principles

Your website and all of its pages should be accessible in all of the following areas. Select each principle to learn more about what it means and how to apply it.

Additionally, be sure to check that any videos or documents housed on your website meet all of their required accessibility features before publishing.

DubBot

We recommend that you check the current accessibility of your website with DubBot and use its feedback to make improvements. DubBot checks for all of the accessibility principles listed above and more. DubBot access for Pitt users will launch in January 2026. Check back for more information.
